From 1 January 2023, 11 new specified sections will be added to the network of specified road sections, and 5 specified sections will expire. Various parameters of 80 specified sections will be modified.
On the newly built 13.3 km of R2 road between Mýtna and Tomášovce, 2 specified road sections will be added. On the same road, another 4 sections will be created by dividing the already existing specified sections at the place of intersection. Due to the creation of a new intersection, 2 sections will disappear and 2 sections of the 1st category will also be modified, which will become parallel from the non-parallel. An additional new section will be added to the network of specified road sections by connecting Triblavina and Chorvátsky Grob via the road II/127. By changing the categories of already existing roads on the Topoľčany bypass, in Ilava and on the bridge over the Oravská dam in Námestovo, 4 new specified road sections will be added. In Námestovo, due to the shift of the built-up area border, the validity of 1 specified road section will expire, and in Ilava, due to a change in road category, the validity of 2 specified road sections will expire.
After all the modifications, including those that do not affect the amount of toll payment (toll sections charged at zero-rate), the number of specified road sections will increase by 6. Their total number will be 2004 as of January 1st. The length of the network of specified road sections shall be extended by 11 km to 8,242 km.
